This Thompson Center manufactured third variation octagon barrel measures 28" long not including the breech plug and is for the percussion Hawken muzzle loading rifle in 45 caliber. This sub-assembly consists of the late variation barrel with the "Hawken" marking and the rear sight hole spacing being 13/16" apart (center to center) for the 2nd variation rear sight (sold separately), late variation breech plug without the clean out screw on the right side and the late variation 1 1/16" long barrel lug. The overall condition is very good retaining 95% original blue finish with the balance as a brown patina having light wear and a few specks of rust. The bore rates very good to near excellent.  (file photos)
